July and August include many vacation periods and currently many of my former students take advantage of these months to make their desired trips, delayed for years, due to fears of the impact of the economic situation on their companies. Although things have improved a lot today, there are those who are afraid that the management team will meet on vacation and decide to reduce some area of the company and expand others. That will lead many to go on vacation worried or even find a way to have to stop by the company a few times in the summer period to make it clear that they are important to managing the company.
Fortunately there are many sectors in which things have improved. Of course in the healthcare sector there have been interesting developments of medical products that had been kept on the shelf studying how to best put them into practice and now this is accelerating. But at the same time many innovations, products and processes are accelerated.
Continuous training stops being an option and becomes a necessity
There are undoubtedly innovations in the automotive sector where it is also expected that there will be an improvement in the volumes of vehicle changes and an interest in adding vehicles with more security and better access to information on all data related to the operation of the car.
Also, innovations appear in the food sector, construction, in transportation activities, including a growth in tourism, in sectors with relevance to fashion issues and many more.
All these changes also have their impact on the world of training. There are new technologies operating on computer topics that can have relevant contributions, but the appropriate people in the company must be trained so that they can handle this information and the processes very positively. We must ensure that new knowledge is well managed. In some companies they are studying how to replace people with robots; and there are some applications that are being handled very well by robots. Robots entered companies many years ago, but they did not advance much and were no longer a crucial objective. But now they have once again come to be studied as substitutes for people with good content and ability. It is worth keeping in mind that these periods of certain uncertainty can also serve to reflect more calmly on one’s own professional development. There are those who take advantage of these days not only to rest, but to think about what skills they should strengthen to better adapt to the changes. Because it is increasingly clear that continuous training is no longer an option and is becoming a necessity. And along those lines, both companies and professionals must dedicate more attention to better preparing for what is coming.
The best schools work on these topics and include them in the content of their teaching. We will probably continue to see the improvement in training grow to become better managers.
