Iraqi media reported that 3 kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were shot down by air defense systems after loud explosions were heard in Erbil. On the other hand, sirens rang in Bahrain and people were called to go to safe areas.
According to Rudaw TV, an Erbil-based broadcaster, violent explosions were heard in the skies of Erbil when the air defense systems were activated. It was recorded that three kamikaze UAVs were shot down.
On the other hand, the anti-Tehran Iranian Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK) announced that one of its camps near Erbil was targeted with two missiles.
After the outbreak of war between the United States and Israel and Iran, Iran launched missile and UAV attacks on Erbil and Sulaymaniyah.
SIREN SOUND IN BAHRAIN
In the statement made by the Bahrain Ministry of Internal Affairs on the social media platform of the US-based X company, it was reported that the sirens were activated once again.
In the warning made by the Ministry, the public was asked to remain calm and go to the nearest safe area.
ATTACKS CONTINUE
These attacks continue even after the signing of the memorandum of understanding stipulating a ceasefire between the USA and Iran.
In its statement on July 17, the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) government “strongly” condemned Iran’s attacks on Erbil and Sulaymaniyah and called on the Tehran administration to immediately end the ongoing attacks.
Iran is carrying out attacks on the camps of Iranian Kurdish groups opposing the Tehran administration in the Iraqi cities of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah, as well as the US military base and consulate general in Erbil.
While 8 kamikaze UAVs were fired into Erbil in the latest attacks, it was announced that 8 members of the organization were killed in the missile attack on the camp of the Iranian Kurdistan Revolutionary Workers Community (Komele), which is opposed to the Tehran administration, in the city of Sulaymaniyah.
